why does the Christian religion despise Harry Potter books?

The books do no harm to anyone. J.K. Rowling herself is a Christian (right?)

today I bought the Half-Blood Prince for a friend and I was just flipping through the pages and I found a piece of paper inside that said “witchcraft is bad blah blah blah” 

really? well guess what person who left that paper inside the book, Harry Potter books are just that, books. they aren’t harming anyone. sometimes I wonder why people are so cynical.
